This sharp-eyed contemporary drama focuses its gaze on a conflicted social worker, who's struggling to decide whether a baby named Luna Gale should be in the custody of her troubled young parents or the infant's grandmother, a religious evangelist. Chicago's Goodman Theatre brings its world-premiere production of Pulitzer Prize nominee Rebecca Gilman's latest to L.A. with its cast and acclaimed director, Robert Falls, intact. The Chicago Tribune hailed the show as "excellent and intensely involving," while the city's Sun-Times agreed, calling it "provocative and impassioned."

"...Fortunately, Goodman perfectly packages this world premiere at the Kirk Douglas Theatre on Todd Rosenthal's turntable set depicting half a dozen elaborately detailed rooms. Equally textured are the seven performances from a documentary-minded ensemble. No bravura acting here, just very recognizable people trapped by fears, rules and habits that demand repair. Fisher conveys her desperation with hair-trigger accuracy, backed up by a cast as contemporary as the saga."
