King Lear Reviews
Broadway World- Highly Recommended
"...A Noise Within brought out the grit and horror in this familiar tragedy. If American Horror Story decided to do a season set in the time of ancient mythical English kings, you would get Julia Rodriguez-Elliott's King Lear. I highly recommend this eerie interpretation of one of Shakespeare's most produced works."

"...But the highlight of this talented cast was, for me, Kasey Mahaffy's intelligent and doomed Fool, played gay, along with Elliott's curmudgeon Lear. One can never get enough of any Lear, but somehow this production never got us to the important part of caring over Cordelia's murder and Lear's unhinged love for this daughter he betrayed so cruelly."
Stage Raw- Highly Recommended
"...While Hamlet may be the brass ring for young male actors, King Lear looms large for those who've sustained their career into late middle age and beyond. A play that tells of an unhinged dictatorial ruler going off the rails to his and his nation's detriment is chilling in this political climate. But A Noise Within focuses so much more wholly on the intimate human complexities of the play - rather than its broader political implications - that the latter become something that niggles at the back of your mind without subsuming the proceedings."
