"...The performers are all terrific, particularly Chandler, whose sexy Big Mama is a highlight. Yet the brevity and modest scale of the production give "Hot Cat" a strangely cursory air, as if Kronis and Alger did not have the leisure to fully develop their themes. Their feat of compressing Williams' overblown potboiler into such a compact format is admirable, yet one wishes they had let the pot boil over a bit longer."

"...This adaptation is funny, quick, and very close to being moving, though still a bit rough around the edges. Perhaps supportive audiences and two more months of shows (first at Theatre of NOTE and then at the Hollywood Fringe) will give it the space a new piece of ensemble-devised theatre sometimes needs in order to mature."
