Hay Fever

Hay Fever

Long Beach Playhouse
5021 E. Anaheim St. Long Beach

Set in an English country house in the 1920s, Noël Coward's comedy of bad manners has been a favorite amongst theatergoers ever since it first dazzled London's West End in 1925. The farcical story centers on retired stage star Judith Bliss, her novelist husband, their two bohemian adult children and all of the houseguests they've invited for the weekend. But as the high-spirited, rambunctious Blisses indulge their artistic eccentricities in a whirlwind of flirtation and histrionics, the guests begin to wonder if they've landed in a madhouse. What's more, they wonder if they can survive the visit with their own wits intact. It's not your allergies that will have you breathless, it's the hilarity of Hay Fever at the MainStage of the Long Beach Playhouse.
