"...It's an enormous production put on in a small theater (it's not one of the 99-seaters, but it hosts only 200 patrons), and Rosoff makes fantastic use of the space, especially considering there are 24 actors and at times it seems all of them are on the stage. The timeless songs by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman are perfect nods to the pop music of the '60s. If you didn't know better (and if the lyrics weren't so madcap) you could believe they were literally chart hits from 1962."

"...Hairspray is back in town, and just in time to provide an honest-to-goodness live alternative to NBC's upcoming Hairspray Live. More importantly, thanks to some sparkling lead and featured performances, Cupcake Theater's mid-sized revival proves a surefire crowd pleaser for audiences from nine to ninety."

"...The myriad of "FAB" wigs from Byron Batista, and the dozens of costumes (uncredited) were eye poppingly appealing! This is a nostalgic, mega-musical journey back to the 1960s that will "ROCK" your socks off! The entire large cast can sing, dance and act with the best of them! The sold-out audience had a great time!"
