Hairspray at Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center

Hairspray, the hit musical based on John Waters' cult classic film is boppin' onto the stage this spring and it's piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and infectious tunes. Set in 1960s Baltimore, Hairspray tells the story of lovable plus-sized teen Tracy Turnblad, a misfit who becomes a local celebrity by dancing on TV's Corny Collins Show. Tracy's love of dancing leads her to become an unlikely heroine, triumphing over both snotty teen queens and racial segregation. And she does it all without mussing a hair on her stylish 'do. Featuring many of the original cast members from the Simi Valley Art Center's 2012 award-winning, sold-out run, Hairspray continues to delight audiences.
