Einstein! at Santa Monica Playhouse

Jack Fry's Einstein! returns from New York to the Santa Monica Playhouse with a new set of accolades, including a "Top 10 Shows to See" nod at the 2016 New York Fringe Festival (a perfect companion to its "Pick of the Fringe" status at the Hollywood fest). Of course, Einstein's name has become synonymous with "genius," but there's so much more to him than his world-changing theories. Set in 1914 Berlin, the solo play follows young Albert Einstein as he struggles to prove his General Theory of Relativity, while his personal life -- new fatherhood, a wife who won't agree to a divorce, failing health -- and society crumble around him due to the Great War. Told with humor and heart, Einstein! draws on the recent release of 15,000 documents and Fry's three years of research to show a side of the genius that's rarely seen. The show is recommend for ages 10 and older.
