"...The cast includes Zuleyka Silver as a pulchritudinous porn star wannabe, Sumiko Braun as her younger sister, and Rob Belushi as the porn producer whose dirty dealing triggers a crisis. Director Shannon Cochran plays up the comical opportunities in Hinderaker's prolix narrative but can't avert the play's ultimate slide into preachiness."

"...The play boasts the kind of hypnotizing ensemble and pristine performances, under Shannon Cochran's direction, that have one rooting for the play not to collapse. It collapses, nonetheless, even with its many virtues - virtues so abundant and provocative, the production is worth a look regardless."

"...Slaughter House Theatre Company's West Coast premiere of Dirty wonderfully involves, intrigues, then incites indignation while always keeping its audience interested. Kennedy Center Playwright Award-winner Andrew Hinderaker certainly knows his way around words-some very clever, some downright mean, but all engaging. Obie Award-winner Shannon Cochran directs her talented cast in an exhilarating pace with the first act zipping by in one of the fastest, most enthralling one hour spent in LA theatre."

"...There are a couple of twists one can see coming a mile away. But even more clear in the distance, from the first scene on, are the phony moral dilemmas the playwright insists on setting up, in order to cast a baleful eye on anyone who's trying to produce something and create jobs. There are crackerjack dramatic possibilities in a critique of American enterprise, but they await a more plausible human construct than the text of Dirty offers. The cast and director Shannon Cochran do their best under the irritating circumstances."

"...The well-written tale is nicely executed by Shannon Cochran (Director) and a functional and simple stage set all help make DIRTY a sparkling production. Highly entertaining DIRTY is a very today with a yesterday truth. Sometimes you just can't play clean."

"...Hinderaker is the real thing, a vital and deliriously word-drunk playwright with a genuine voice. I'm unfamiliar with his other plays, but Dirty is written in a distinctive stylized realism. It's true that some of Hinderaker's plot contrivances seem implausible, even for such a black satire. But the strength of the writing and the committed performances keep you riveted and unquestioning while the drama unfolds."

"...The writing is clever, the direction strong, but it's essentially contrived and sadly predictable. At first the theme seems to be an appeal for appreciating the wonders of porn. Hey, that's a unique point of view. However, in the end, an unexpected turnaround reveals the porn industry to be just as sleazy and exploitative as one suspected."
