"...The audience can't help but percolate in vicarious excitement and appreciation of every song's truth. Memorable musical numbers include "More to Life," "Ingredients," and "I Believe." Believing in dreams is important for the inner child within us, and this particular song and dance piece has shades and influences of Peter Pan, Pippin, and The Wiz. Cinderella is a most beloved of enchanting tales, a living legacy, now enjoying its run, in a myriad of venues (the silver screen at various movie theatres nationwide); a grand theatrical production at the Ahmanson; and this most intimate of settings, here at Theatre West."

"...This production of Cinderella is truly full of play. Storybook Theatre does not take itself too seriously, evidenced by its use of a lot of simple props and ideas. The clock that strikes midnight is a pink plastic wall clock. And instead of a carriage, the pumpkin gets changed into a Hippity-Hop riding ball that Cinderella bounces on all the way to the dance. Portions of the stage setting look like they might have been created by children, which is part of the fun. It's aimed to look like it was made just for kids, and for the children in the audience, it works."
