Cinderella at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion

Though the Mariinsky Ballet, formerly known as the Kirov, has been an institution in Russia since 1783, they continue to create cutting-edge dance -- as with this acclaimed Jazz Age version of Cinderella -- and you can be among the first to snag a seat at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion with this special Goldstar pre-sale. Choreographer Alexei Ratmansky has transferred the action to the glam-packed 1930s and given the production a light and playful feel as it follows the adventures of the young scullery maid who becomes the belle of the ball before losing her shoe and eventually finding her prince. The Mariinsky Orchestra accompanies the powerful and elegant dance action with Prokofiev's famous score.
