Cinderella

Cinderella

The Little Theater LA
12420 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles

Unlike some of the more recent film versions of "Cinderella", LACT's production honors the original fairytale. Instead of her physical beauty being the focus, Cinderella's charm and beauty come from within. Thus, her "beautiful" character attracts and ultimately makes the handsome prince fall in love with her. So, even though her two mean stepsisters and stepmother bully and demean her, Cinderella appears as a hard-working young girl with a heart of gold. Despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, she will not give in to despair nor despise those who abuse her. When the palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But as in all good fairy tales, a kindly fairy godmother sees the goodliness Cinderella possesses, and magically transforms her into a "princess" thus changing her life forever.
