Breathe

Greenway Court Theatre
544 North Fairfax Avenue Los Angeles

When two teenagers -- one black, one white -- are involved in separate acts of violence, the consequences they face are not only based on evidence, but also on the color of their skin. Using a combination of poetry, hip-hop and dramatic action, poet-writer Javon Johnson's drama Breathe explores tensions, decisions and conditions that lead the boys to prison and the effect imprisonment has on their families. Award-winning playwright Levy Lee Simon (The Bow-Wow Club) directs this gripping, socially-relevant production at L.A.'s Greenway Court Theatre.
