Blending inventive touches like a live, on-stage band and a photography exhibit showcasing the actors' creative process, director Aaron Craig is putting his own inspired spin on the play. "The mood of Motown is the perfect counterpoint to Pinter's taut and intense writing." In a twist even Pinter himself couldn't have planned, Elizabeth Kimball (Emma) and Brian Graves (Robert) are husband and wife in the play and in real life. Kimball and Greg Crooks (Jerry) attended PCPA with Craig years earlier and the trio is thrilled to reunite for this novel approach to a play they have all long admired. Another innovative aspect to this production is the Crowd-funding Campaign offer to do a command performance in one lucky ticket buyer's home or office. "I saw small companies doing theater in people's homes in New York," says Craig, "and I thought it was an amazing opportunity to allow the cast and the viewers to connect on a totally different, truly personal level." From the live music to the photography exhibit, this incarnation of "Betrayal" will give theatergoers a fresh, new way to appreciate Pinter's work.
