He's famed for his collections of children's poems (Where the Sidewalk Ends) but in Shel Silverstein's darkly comic and decidedly adult world of Saturday Night Live-style sketches, you'll see revenge taken on the guy who invented the phrase "have a nice day," witness a tale of friendship, murder and vaudeville with only one very "meat and potatoes" line of dialogue, and watch two ladies of the night try to rhyme every few words. The author's imaginative world covers a wide range of topics, but they're all tied together by his clever and witty wordplay.
