Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning drama A Streetcar Named Desire seethes with raw sexuality and grit in Scottish Ballet's contemporary dance adaptation. During a steamy summer in New Orleans' French Quarter, a vulnerable Blanche DuBois seeks shelter at the apartment of her pregnant sister Stella and Stella's husband Stanley. Fragile Blanche and temperamental Stanley immediately clash, and tensions further escalate. The story's suspenseful take on lust, desire and betrayal is one that's further enhanced by the sensuality and honesty of dance. Conceptualized by theater and film director Nancy Meckler, and choreographed by international dance star and National Dance Award (U.K.) winner Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Scottish Ballet's A Streetcar Named Desire is a one-of-a-kind take on an American classic. See it when it graces the stage of The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles.
