A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City at Geffen Playhouse

Actress-playwright Halley Feiffer stars in the Geffen Playhouse production of her off-Broadway comedy that "blends rage with gallows humor," according to The New York Times, which made it a Critics' Pick in 2016. In A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City, a frustrated stand-up comic is trying out material on her mother, who happens to be a patient in said hospital, when the son of the comatose woman sharing the room takes offense, sparking an entertaining back-and-forth that may or may not lead to romance. Trip Cullman, who directed the New York version, takes on the same duties here with a cast featuring Feiffer (the daughter of Pulitzer Prize-winning satirist Jules Feiffer), Jason Butler Harner, Eileen T'Kaye and JoBeth Williams. This production contains profanity, sexual language and sexual conduct.
