A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Thousand Oaks
Crafty, charismatic, wisecracking slave Pseudolus is your guide through Cabrillo Music Theatre's production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, a freewheeling, Tony Award-winning farce set in ancient Rome. Determined to buy, win or steal his freedom by any means necessary, Pseudolus makes a deal with his wealthy master's son, Hero: If he can help him win the affections of Philla, a beautiful courtesan who lives next door, Hero will set him free. What follows in this production at Thousand Oaks' Scherr Forum Theatre is a hysterical series of lies, slammed doors and cases of mistaken identity as Pseudolus tries to hold up his end of the bargain.
